Los Angeles is a hub for iconic figures, movie stars, television stars, and musicians. Rock’n’Roll is an important element of the City of Angels. Photographer Heidi Gibbs, a Los Angeles native, is most influenced by music, particularly the Rock’n’Roll genre. In this story, Malibu Rocks, we show a glimpse of the 1970's Rock’n’Roll scene with the backdrop of the California coastline. This story features television star and recording artist, Miranda Cosgrove and Nick Steele.
Miranda can be seen on the Emmy nominated TV show iCarly, Nickelodeon's highest rated live action show, a huge success in the US and abroad. She recently lent her voice to the character Margo in the Universal summer blockbuster animated feature Despicable Me opposite Steve Carell and Jason Segel. Her debut hit solo album Sparks Fly released in April, debuted #8 on the Billboard chart. She co-wrote the first single Kissin U with top producer Dr. Luke which is a Top 20 Billboard song. This shoot is a respectful, yet bold tribute to the blessed Virgin Mary. I represent the pain of the stigmata, the tears of blood, the Annunciation plunged into blue, and a black Mary, inspired by the most ancient testimonies of Christian iconography, where Madonna was portrayed with dark skin.” Giovanni Squatriti
