"Classic cinema has always inspired me
and in this case it was a screening of
the 1922 film Nosferatu that stirred my
creative thoughts. However it wasn’t

“I’ve always been intrigued with churches
and specifically, religion. I’ve always been
moved by the ‘dark’ silence in a church
and the sins that are admitted in confession
and yet there’s this air of purity in
the space. I had a set builder build me
a small church. I cast two models, one
more Gothic, with dark hair and the other
more pure. I like the contrast between
the two models and the sensual undertones
between the two of them.”
