The 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), presented by Cartier, held its Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Centre on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 hosted by "Entertainment Tonight's" Mary Hart. Honourees were presented with either the John Kennedy "The Entertainer" statue or a Chihuly Glass Sculpture. The following awards were presented at this year's Awards Gala: - Breakthrough Performance Award (Female) - Mariah Carey - Breakthrough Performance Award (Male) - Jeremy Renner - Career Achievement Award (Female) - Helen Mirren - Career Achievement Award (Male) - Morgan Freeman - Desert Palm Achievement Award - Jeff Bridges - Director of the Year Award - Jason Reitman - Frederick Loewe Award for Film Composing - T Bone Burnett - Rising Star Award - Anna Kendrick - Sonny Bono Visionary Award - Quentin Tarantino
